GiftofCollege.com Prepares for Expanded Retail Footprint this Fall
Adds board member, key staff, and national 529 partner

(Phoenix, August 15, 2018) - Gift of College, Inc. (GiftofCollege.com) announces the appointment of a new member of its board as well as two additional senior management staff.  The expansion of their team is in preparation for additional nationwide retailers, brands and partners in the fall of this year.

Dan Schatt, the newest board member, is a recognized expert in payments, mobile commerce and retail financial services innovation and has been acknowledged as one of the “Innovators To Watch” in the payment industry.   Dan is currently Co-Founder and President at Libra Credit, and previously served as CCO at Stockpile, and General Manager of Financial Innovations at PayPal.

Jenny Jeansonne, a payments and gift card industry veteran, steps into the role of Vice President, Product, where she will be responsible for developing GiftofCollege’s product offerings and expanding the firm’s B2B relationships nationwide.  Jenny has developed and executed global gift card programs with strong focus on digital payments, monetization strategy, e-commerce, retail, B2C and B2B Partnerships. She previously managed Retail and B2B channel distribution for InComm, eBay and Stockpile and is on the Board of Directors of the Incentive Gift Card Council.

Patricia Roberts, a well-known 529 plan expert, will assume the role of Senior Director, Partnerships and Growth. Through her product, relationship management and legal roles at Citigroup, Merrill Lynch and AllianceBernstein, Patricia contributed to the development and distribution of several of the largest 529 plans in the nation. In addition, as an industry thought leader and as a designer of several children’s savings account programs, she has helped tens of thousands of families across the nation save for college over the past two decades.

“I am thrilled to welcome Dan, Jenny and Patricia on board,” said Wayne Weber, CEO, Gift of College. “The combination of their professional experience and unique skillsets will provide valuable support for the innovation and growth we have planned.  Together we will expand our reach to families, friends and employers with an easy-to-use platform to help with paying for higher education.”

Gift of College is also expanding its collaboration with the national direct-sold college savings program, Invest529.   Administered by Virginia529, the largest 529 plan in the country, its Gift of College gift cards have been available in retail stores since 2017 and the footprint for the cards will expand this fall across the country.

“We are excited to be expanding our retail reach in conjunction with Gift of College. We have seen --- and heard --- over the past year how families appreciate the simplicity and flexibility of using these gift cards to save for education,” said Mary Morris, Virginia529 CEO.  "The cost of education continues to increase and the innovation and reach afforded with the Gift of College partnership, blended with our award-winning Invest529 program, will enable us to reach more families around the country and help them successfully prepare for the future.”
